It is common for forgotten passwords, but do not even try to
remember Wi-Fi passwords. Most people put passwords on their device and forget
about them when setting up Wi-Fi networks. But when you buy a new phone, or if
a guest who came to your home wants to access the network from their
smartphone, then it is the beginning of finding the Wi-Fi password. Reasons for
not missing the password
Resetting the wireless router becomes compulsion. If you are
caught in such a situation, then through these tips you can recover the Wi-Fi
password.
One important thing is to tell that it is not a guide to
hacking any Wi-Fi network. Hacking is illegal and by doing so you can get
trapped in more trouble than expected. You can recover your Wi-Fi password only
by following the suggestions given below, when one of your devices is connected
to that network. If you have forgotten the password of your Wi-Fi network, then
use these suggestions.
Forget Wi-Fi password? Such recovery
Windows
In such cases, you will find many applications on the
internet, claiming that with their help you can recover the Wi-Fi password, but
there is no need for an app for a Windows computer. If you do not have
administrator access to the PC, you can still know the Wi-Fi password by
following these tips. One thing to note is that this method will only work if
security is set to personal. If you are connected to an enterprise network, or
you are using Office Wi-Fi, you will not be able to know the password.
1. Take a computer connected to Wi-Fi network. Then go to
Start> Control Panel> Network and Sharing Center. You can tap Windows key
+ C on a Windows 8 computer, then click on Search and search for Network and
Sharing Center.
2. Click Change Adapter Settings in the Left Sidebar.
3. Right-click the Wi-Fi network you are using. Then click
on the status.
4. Click on wireless properties.
5. Click the Security tab.
6. Now you will be able to see the name of the Wi-Fi network
and the hidden password. Checking Show Characters will show your saved
password.
There is another way to find the password. This is possible
by installing a third-party app on the computer and using it. Follow the
following tips for this:
1. Download and install the WiFi Password Revealer
The
installer will suggest you install Skype and AVG TuneUp, ours will say here
that during installation you uncheck it.
2. Run the program after the installation is over.
3. Now you will be able to view
all Wi-Fi networks and their
passwords too. You do not do anything other than running this program.
Mac
You can find Wi-Fi passwords saved on Mac through the
Keychain Access app. For this, you have to do this.
1. Go to Applications / Utilities.
2. Open Keychain Access. Go to the listed System keychain
inside Keychains in the top left corner.
3. Search the Wi-Fi network by typing the name of the
network (SSID) in the search box made in the top corner on the right, whose
password is trying to know. Or you can manually find it in the list too.
4. After the search result, double click on the name of the
network. After this, click the show password option.
5. When prompted, you can tell the user account password and
after that you will be able to see the password saved.
Via router
If you do not have a Windows or Mac computer in which the
Wi-Fi password is saved, or you are trying to get the password through your
phone or tablet, then you can search saved passwords through the router.
Obviously this will work only when you are connected to the router's network.
Remember that you can also connect the router via the Ethernet cable. Tablet
and mobile phones as long as Wi-Fi
You will not be able to know the password if you are not
connected to the network.
These steps can be slightly different from each router. If
you tamper with the wrong settings, the entire network will be jammed. So you
go ahead at your own risk.
1. First, open the browser and go to the router's local
address. In general, this is http://192.168.1.1, although the URL depends on
the router's brand too, so look for the correct address manually or look at the
official website.
2. Enter Username and Password. And it will also be
different for different companies. You can also change the password and also do
this. However, as the default, the username and password are administered in
the router given by MTNL and Airtel. At the same time, there is a default
password password in other routers. If this combination does not work then you
need to contact your router's manufacturer or internet service provider.
3. First click on Internet, then on Wireless. In some router
the option of wireless is available on the main screen. In this section you
will be able to see Security Type (WEP, WPA) and Key. In some router these
options are inside the Security tab.
A Wi-Fi network password is available in the box next to the
key field. And on many router it is available in plain text, so you have to
note it.
If all the measures do not work .
If no solution does not work then you may have to reset the
router. Do not do this until you can connect any device to the network.
Resetting the router is the last resort, because after that you have to reset
the entire network again to restore the internet connection. If you do not know
about it then we would suggest that you contact your Internet Service Provider.
We can not give you a precise guide for this, because it is
different depending on the manufacturer of the router. Before doing this, you
should check your router's user manual. There is a reset switch in every
router. Some routers have a very small button, so in some these buttons are
hidden in a small hole (it can be pressed through a paper clip). To reset the
router, this switch has to be pressed for a while. From the flashing lights
made on the router you will know that it was reset.
Once this is done, wait for the router to start over again,
and then setup the network. The steps to follow this process will depend on
your internet service provider, so we suggested to contact the service provider
to reset the router.
